Day 2

MOMENTUM

Day two hit different. Something unlocked.

I don’t know if it was the caffeine or just the relief of having night one behind me, but I actually made things. The game has a name now — NO PREP — which felt like a small ceremony. Naming something means you’re serious about it.

From there it kind of snowballed. Got the car classifieds screen in, a proper boss fight with The King, and then kept going. Mobile touch controls so it actually works on a phone. Some screen shake and motion effects to give it weight. Then I fell down a rabbit hole on the Web Audio API and built out 8-bit engine sounds and music from scratch.

I kept expecting to run out of steam and it just… didn’t happen.

The game is rough. The art is placeholder squares. But it plays, sort of. - https://presspause.dev/no-prep
